On March 4, 2024, at Noi Bai International Airport, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) in collaboration with the Aviation Rescue Services Pty Ltd (ARS) training center from Australia, organized a training course on Search and Rescue, Firefighting Practice at the airport for the specialized rescue and firefighting staff of Airports Corporation of Vietnam.

Attending the opening ceremony were representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Northern Airports Authority, Airports Corporation of Vietnam, Aviation Rescue Services Pty Ltd (ARS) training center, leaders of Noi Bai International Airport, and 200 rescue and firefighting staff from airports under ACV.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. To Tu Ha, Director of Noi Bai International Airport, stated that the collaboration between Airports Corporation of Vietnam and ARS to train firefighting and rescue forces at ACV demonstrates a commitment to developing a professional workforce that meets international standards at ACV's international airports. He believes that after the course, participants will have a solid grasp of specialized knowledge to meet job requirements.

Mr. Peter Mc Mahon, a training expert from ARS, shared his delight in collaborating with ACV and working in the beautiful and hospitable country of Vietnam. With a series of scheduled training courses on firefighting and rescue operations, he will be working here for nearly 2 months. He affirmed that upon completion of the course, participants will have a strong understanding of theory and practical skills to be ready to respond to emergencies.

Directly inspecting the training activities on-site, Mr. Pham Van Hao, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, highly praised the preparation of Noi Bai International Airport to ensure infrastructure for practical training and promptly complete related procedures.

The practical training area was urgently constructed by Noi Bai International Airport to meet the needs of practical training in firefighting and rescue operations. The training area is built on a 7,100 m2 land plot. The ground is covered with graded crushed stone, compacted, and topped with asphalt to facilitate practical training in rescue, firefighting, and operation of vehicles and equipment in the restricted area of the airport.

This is the first training course conducted at the practical training area for rescue and firefighting operations of Noi Bai International Airport. The next will be 4 courses taught by ARS experts, with a total duration extending until April 28, 2024. This area will also serve as a venue for organizing training courses for Noi Bai International Airport and the Airports Corporation of Vietnam. The utilization of the practical training area has solved the difficult problem of finding a location to conduct practical training as well as organize firefighting and rescue drills for aircraft at Noi Bai International Airport.
