The estimated number of flights served and passengers arriving and departing at Noi Bai International Airport during the upcoming holiday on April 30th this year is about 2600 flights and 440,000 passengers.

This is an estimated figure based on the airlines' flight schedules. According to the calculations, the peak day is expected to have around 94,000 passengers (including nearly 37,000 international passengers and 57,000 domestic passengers) and 538 flights (including 235 international flights and 303 domestic flights) passing through Noi Bai International Airport. The passenger volume during the peak period on April 30th this year is slightly higher than usual but still lower than the same period last year.

One notable feature in the relationship between international and domestic transport volumes is that while domestic flight volumes remain stable (increasing by about 12% compared to normal days, decreasing by 18% compared to the same period), international flight volumes are growing well, with the peak day potentially reaching 37,000 passengers/day, surpassing the peak day of the same period in 2019.

Noi Bai International Airport has prepared favorable conditions to ensure safe and efficient flight services.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has adjusted the slot coordination parameters at Noi Bai International Airport to increase to 42 flights per hour during the daytime and 32 flights per hour during the nighttime. This helps airlines enhance their capacity to serve passengers during peak times.

Vietnam Airport Corporation has also timely completed a part of the expanded aircraft parking apron in the East area of Terminal 2 passenger terminal as part of the project "Expansion of aircraft parking apron in Terminal 2 passenger terminal area - Noi Bai International Airport," as decided by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to be put into operation, helping to increase the number of aircraft parking positions at the airport.

Previously, the airport and aviation service units officially operated flights applying the Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) model from February 1, 2024, to help efficiently manage flight operations, improve flight punctuality, and test the operation of automatic toll lanes without stopping to allow vehicles with ETC cards to quickly pass through, providing convenience for passengers and reducing local congestion during peak hours.

To ensure absolute security and safety of flights and meet the travel needs of the public during the 5-day holiday, Noi Bai International Airport has implemented Level 1 security measures from April 27 to May 1; in coordination with airlines and ground service units, they monitor transportation volumes during peak hours to allocate check-in counters, boarding gates, and baggage conveyor belts according to operational reality; prepare an adequate number of backup counters for airlines with increased flights during peak times; maximize the operation of security screening machines during peak hours to ensure the fastest flow and actively control passenger numbers from the document control positions. Implement opening all ticket inspection gates in lanes during peak hours; strengthen security forces in coordination with the Nội Bài Police Station to regulate vehicles, traffic lanes; rearrange pick-up and drop-off locations for vehicles transporting employees of units at the airport out of the terminal areas to prioritize access to the terminal for passenger vehicles.

In addition to ensuring security and safety, coordinating flight operations, Noi Bai International Airport is also implementing plans to ensure service quality: the airport requires concessionaires to commit to ensuring service delivery time; the quality and quantity of goods, services provided, and passenger transport vehicles; the attitude and service style towards passengers; units allocate sufficient personnel at the Information Desk, automatic customer care hotline, customer care hotline, coordinated operation hotline... ensuring 24/7 availability to timely guide, provide information to passengers, and coordinate handling of arising issues.

Noi Bai International Airport and its service units are ready in all aspects to serve passengers during this important holiday, ensuring absolute security and safety and living up to the passengers' vote as one of the top 100 best airports in the world in 2024.

Some notes for passengers

To avoid delays and missing flights, passengers should take note of the following: Check the validity of personal identification documents to ensure they are still valid; arrive at the airport well in advance of the flight (be present at least 2 hours before domestic flights, 3 hours before international flights); limit the number of family members accompanying or seeing off to reduce congestion at the terminal; adhere to regulations regarding luggage and prohibited/restricted items in restricted areas and on board the aircraft; complete the check-in process promptly and proceed to the next steps swiftly, especially for large groups to avoid delays; carefully check luggage and personal belongings before leaving the airport to prevent loss, misplacement, or confusion; encourage passengers to utilize public transportation to reduce congestion at the passenger drop-off area at Noi Bai Airport; for connecting passengers moving between terminals, note that Noi Bai International Airport provides free shuttle services operating every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes at night, with pick-up locations at Gate A, Level 1 - Terminal 1, and columns 11-12 - Terminal 2.
