INFRASTRUCTURE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES/LIMITED MOBILITY AT DOMESTIC PASSENGER TERMINAL (T2) - NOI BAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

As the largest international airport in the Northern region and the important gateway for international air trade in the capital city of Hanoi, Noi Bai International Airport focuses on investing in infrastructure and equipment to ensure the safety of all flights and passengers traveling through the airport. In particular, the airport pays special attention to the infrastructure and facilities for disabled and mobility-impaired individuals, ensuring comprehensive accessibility conditions for disabled individuals such as accessible restrooms, wheelchair access routes, escalators, elevators, LED signs, directional signs, and audio systems providing travel information and safety instructions for the visually impaired and hearing impaired.

At Terminal 2, passengers with disabilities and mobility limitations can conveniently access aviation services and procedures. The infrastructure and facilities for prioritized guests include:

  1. For departing passengers:
    1.1. Entrance to Terminal 2: The terminal is equipped with wheelchair-accessible pathways for disabled or mobility-impaired passengers to enter the public area on the 3rd floor of Terminal 2 for check-in procedures with airlines.
  2. The pathway is designated for wheelchair users, ambulances, and passengers with disabilities or limited mobility to access Terminal 2

1.2. Priority entrances: At both ends of the East and West Wings, namely Wings B and A, there are two priority entrances located at the ends of the terminal for passengers undergoing procedures at Wings A and B to move into the quarantine area.

1.3. Restroom Area:
The restroom area at all locations is equipped with dedicated restrooms for individuals with mobility limitations, providing convenient facilities for wheelchair users.

1.4. Children's area and first aid at the quarantine area in Passenger Terminal T2: In the quarantine area on each wing, a children's room and first aid station are set up to facilitate passengers in caring for their little ones conveniently and comprehensively. These spaces are designed to be clean, discreet, and cozy, ensuring a nurturing environment for the children.

 1.5. Seating in the Waiting Area: In the quarantine area of Passenger Terminal T2, the Port has arranged rows of seats for passengers with limited mobility in front of the boarding gate to facilitate easy movement to the aircraft.

These seats are fabric-covered and clearly marked. In this area, free charging stations are also available.

The Port consistently advises passengers to avoid sitting in seats designated for those with limited mobility.

1.6. Free Amenities: Free water stations and charging points are strategically placed at various height levels for the convenience of passengers using wheelchairs. The free water stations come in two height levels.

For Arriving Passengers: 2.1. Waiting Area Seats: In the quarantine areas for international luggage belts as well as public areas for international arrivals, Noi Bai International Airport has arranged available waiting seats for passengers to rest while waiting.

2.2. Traffic Lanes: In the traffic lanes, Noi Bai International Airport has designed intersecting areas with suitable slopes for passengers who use wheelchairs to move to vehicles conveniently.

2.3. Designated Parking Spaces for Wheelchair-Accessible Passenger Vehicles: At Passenger Terminal T2, 12 parking spaces are allocated at the P3 car park, and 2 passenger pick-up locations are designated in the front hall on the ground floor of the terminal for vehicles picking up passengers who use wheelchairs.

2.4. Transportation Connection between Terminals T2 and T1: For the convenience of passengers moving between terminals, Noi Bai International Airport has arranged two free electric shuttle bus routes. These shuttle buses are equipped with designated seating for passengers with disabilities or limited mobility.

2.5. Video, Sound System Providing Journey Information, Safety Instructions for the Visually and Hearing Impaired...

 To support information on aviation safety regulations for visually and hearing impaired passengers, Noi Bai International Airport has implemented instructional broadcasts in sign language (video signal language) at boarding gate areas. Additionally, video guides for connecting shuttle services are provided on the shuttle buses.

 Despite the limited ground conditions at the Domestic Passenger Terminal, with the efforts of Noi Bai International Airport, all passengers arriving at the airport are ensured comprehensive access to services and infrastructure within the terminal.
