Ensuring absolute security and safety for every flight, achieving double-digit growth, improving service quality, and enhancing its position on the world aviation map were the highlights at the Conference to Review Coordinated Operations Management, Security and Safety Work, and Service Quality Improvement for Q2 and the first 6 months of 2026, held this morning, July 21, 2026, at Noi Bai International Airport.
Breakthrough growth and mastery of operations management technology
Opening the conference, Mr. To Tu Ha, Director of Noi Bai International Airport, shared the good news of the airport's strong recovery and growth, with output indicators achieving double-digit growth. Despite pressure from extended holiday peak periods and a series of important political and diplomatic events of the country, operations management remained stable and absolutely safe.
One of the most outstanding highlights in operations was the successful implementation of the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) model. In Q2/2026, the proportion of flights applying the A-CDM model reached a very high level, up to 98.7% of total flights. This smooth coordination has helped optimize resources, reduce aircraft taxiing/waiting time, and significantly enhance the service capacity of the entire operational chain.
Ensuring absolute aviation security and safety
In the first 6 months of 2026, Noi Bai International Airport ensured absolute safety in all flight operations, notably providing thorough and respectful service for 113 special/VIP flights and 1,001 priority flights through the airport; safely serving more than 111,300 flights, up 11%; welcoming approximately 18.2 million passengers, up 10%; and transporting more than 548,000 tons of cargo and parcels, up 20.9% compared to the same period in 2025.
At the same time, the airport organized and coordinated the successful execution of large-scale drills, such as security emergency response drills and fire response, search and rescue, and disabled aircraft relocation drills in 2026.
At the conference, representatives from the Noi Bai Border Guard Police and the Northern Airports Authority also highly appreciated the stability during the security force transition period, while emphasizing the implementation of the Project "Enhancing Airport Capacity to Ensure Security, Intelligence, and Friendliness in the New Situation" under Decision No. 1066/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.
Regulatory agencies and the airport operator reached strong consensus on proactively reviewing coordination regulations, particularly on establishing a rapid map-based location mechanism to coordinate with local police forces in promptly handling airspace safety violations (drones, kite flying, etc.). At the same time, the airport also strengthened close coordination with the Aviation Meteorology agency to effectively respond to complex weather developments, ensuring that every minute of the operational chain remains safe and smooth.
Continuously elevating the passenger experience toward the 4-star standard
Noi Bai International Airport's journey to improve service quality is entering an accelerated phase. In recent times, the airport has continuously invested in upgrading infrastructure, renovating landscaping, and installing new amenities such as large-format FIDS screens at Terminal T1. Alongside this, the mark of digital transformation is clearly reflected in the application of VNeID electronic identification and biometric recognition technology, helping passengers complete check-in procedures quickly and conveniently.
Sharing about upcoming directions, Deputy Director Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said the entire system is concentrating its resources to prepare for the important Skytrax assessment at the end of this coming November. This event serves as leverage for Noi Bai to achieve its goal of earning the international 4-star airport rating.
Concluding the conference, Director To Tu Ha once again affirmed the airport's commitment to maintaining operational discipline, particularly strict control of foreign object debris (FOD) and vehicles operating in the airside area. At the same time, the Director requested that agencies and units urgently review and update procedures and coordination documents to promptly comply with new aviation legal regulations effective from July 1, 2026. Along with the upcoming improvement of Terminal T1's appearance, Noi Bai International Airport calls for the joint efforts and cooperation of all units to realize the vision of a smart, friendly, and internationally-reaching airport.
