The year 2026 marks a new milestone for Noi Bai International Airport, as it not only significantly advanced to 71st place in the world’s Top 100 Airports, but also, for the first time, proudly entered the Top 10 Best Airports Worldwide in the 30–40 million passenger capacity category.

Strong breakthrough in prestigious global rankings
The international organization Skytrax has officially announced the 2026 World Airport Awards (link: https://www.worldairportawards.com/worlds-top-100-airports-2026/). Accordingly, Noi Bai International Airport made an impressive leap to 71st position, rising 8 places from 79th in 2025.
Remarkably, Noi Bai International Airport has also been named among the Top 10 Best Airports in the world in the 30–40 million passenger capacity category.
This is the first time in history that the capital’s aviation gateway has achieved this prestigious recognition, standing alongside leading international airports such as Riyadh, Vienna, and Zurich.
The pride of Vietnam’s aviation industry is further amplified as another member of Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) – Da Nang International Airport – has also maintained its position in the Top 100 and made a strong jump of 9 places compared to the previous year.

Modern infrastructure: A “lever” to enhance operational capacity
Noi Bai’s rise in 2026 is closely linked to comprehensive improvements in infrastructure. The airport has focused on upgrading and expanding check-in areas at both passenger terminals, optimizing space utilization and significantly increasing operational capacity, ensuring smooth passenger flow even during peak periods.
Alongside spatial expansion, smart equipment systems have been synchronously upgraded. From check-in areas and security screening to baggage handling systems, modern technologies have been integrated to reduce waiting times and maximize passenger convenience.
In addition, passenger amenities and the airport’s landscape have been enhanced in line with “green airport” standards, creating a modern, friendly, and inspiring travel environment from the very first touchpoint at the capital’s gateway.

Digital transformation and passenger-centric service excellence
Beyond physical infrastructure, Noi Bai has also made a strong impression through its comprehensive digital transformation strategy. The implementation of Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) has improved flight operation efficiency, helping airlines save fuel, enhance on-time performance, and reduce environmental emissions.
At the same time, increased application of technology and automated services such as self-service kiosks and automated gates (Autogate) has optimized processing time and empowered passengers with greater convenience and autonomy.
Equally important is the close coordination among all stakeholders operating at the airport – including state management agencies, police forces, immigration authorities, customs, ground service providers, and airlines – which has been key to this achievement.
All efforts revolve around the philosophy of “putting passengers at the center.” From the friendly smiles of check-in staff to well-equipped waiting areas, every detail has been standardized to meet Skytrax’s most stringent criteria.

Elevating Vietnam’s aviation position globally
Achieving this “double win” at the World Airport Awards 2026 is not only a source of pride for the staff of Noi Bai International Airport, but also a strong affirmation of Vietnam aviation’s rising global standing.
A representative of Noi Bai International Airport stated:
“Being ranked 71st globally and entering the Top 10 airports in the 30–40 million passenger category is a strong motivation for us to continue innovating. Noi Bai is committed to continuously improving service quality to remain worthy of its role as a key international gateway of the capital.”
