From December 20, 2024, Noi Bai International Airport Officially Implements Fully Functional Cashless and Contactless Payment Lanes for Car Parking Services at Terminals T1 and T2

The cashless and contactless payment lanes for car parking services at Noi Bai International Airport have successfully completed their trial operation and are now officially in use across the entire airport. Terminal T1 features 9 entry lanes and 10 exit lanes, which have been stably operating with contactless payment since early December 2024. Meanwhile, Terminal T2 has 7 entry lanes and 11 exit lanes, with the final preparations completed to ensure a smooth system operation starting December 20, 2024.

Accepted payment methods for these lanes include traffic toll accounts (VETC/VDTC), bank cards, QR code payments, e-wallets, and cash.

Monitoring and statistical data show that the cashless and contactless payment system for car parking services at Terminals T1 and T2 is operating reliably, ensuring accurate service fee collection, saving time for customers, and alleviating localized congestion at toll booths during peak hours.

Currently, all lanes accept mixed payment methods. In the future, based on data regarding the rate of vehicles using ETC cards for payment at the airport, Noi Bai International Airport will designate dedicated ETC payment lanes and mixed-payment lanes to further reduce vehicle processing times.

To ensure smooth entry, exit, and payment, Noi Bai International Airport advises service users as follows:

1. Vehicle owners should ensure their vehicles have ETC tags installed, and their ETC accounts have sufficient balance to cover service fees.
2. License plates must be clean, unbent, and legible to improve recognition accuracy by cameras at the toll gates.
3. Vehicles with ETC tags and sufficient balance will have fees deducted automatically, enabling quick passage without stopping, thereby preventing congestion for vehicles behind.

By officially implementing cashless payment lanes before the Christmas and New Year holidays, Noi Bai International Airport aims to ensure smoother, faster, and more convenient traffic flow for all visitors.

The project for cashless and contactless payment for car parking services is funded by Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and has been approved for deployment across 21 airports under ACV’s management. To date, five airports have successfully implemented this system, including Noi Bai International Airport, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang, Cat Bi, and Phu Bai International Airport. In the coming period, ACV will expedite investments and upgrades to the payment systems at remaining airports, bringing social benefits, increasing convenience, and facilitating airport users. This initiative aligns with ACV’s digital transformation roadmap for the period up to 2025, with a vision toward 2030.
