Noi Bai International Airport Ready with Service Plans for the April Holiday Peak Season. Key Notes for Passengers to Avoid Missing Their Flights.

Passenger Volume Maintains Strong Growth

Based on airline operating plans, Noi Bai International Airport forecasts that passenger volume and flights during the April 30 peak period this year will increase approximately 10–15% compared to the regular flight schedule.

Specifically, on the busiest day, April 29, 2026, Noi Bai International Airport expects to serve a total of 652 flights, up 9.4% compared to the regular schedule and the same period in 2025. Passenger traffic is estimated to reach 113,631 passengers, up 15% compared to the regular schedule and up 12.4% compared to the same period last year.

Of which, international transport volume is expected to have 323 flights (up 7.3% compared to regular schedule and up 13% compared to the same period in 2025) with 52,102 passengers (up 12.3% compared to regular schedule and up sharply by 29.1% compared to the same period in 2025).

Domestic transport volume is expected to have 329 flights (up 11.5% compared to regular schedule and up 2.8% compared to the same period in 2025) with 61,529 passengers (up 17.3% compared to regular schedule and up 1.3% compared to the same period in 2025).

Although the general market has seen fluctuations in supply and fuel prices leading to some frequency reductions, at Noi Bai we continue to record stable growth, particularly from new airlines and increased flight frequencies from international partners.

Service Plans Ready for the Peak Period

Noi Bai International Airport has proactively prepared service plans for the holiday peak period, especially during the Level 1 security reinforcement period from April 29 to May 4, 2026. The specific plans are as follows:

Regarding infrastructure and equipment: The Airport ensures the best operational condition for 98 check-in counters at Terminal T1 and 144 counters at Terminal T2, including 48 new counters put into operation from the T2 passenger terminal expansion project. The system of 16 baggage claim belts at both terminals and 122 licensed aircraft parking positions are also ready to handle increased volume.

Regarding aviation security, public order and traffic safety coordination: The Airport strengthens cooperation with Noi Bai Border Gate Police to arrange personnel and maximize the opening of security screening machines; coordinates with Noi Bai International Airport Police Station and Traffic Police Team No. 15 to intensify patrols, ensure public order and handle violations at Airport areas; coordinates traffic regulation and lane management for smooth passenger flow. Automatic toll collection is also applied at all entry/exit lanes to enhance processing capacity, with flexible opening and closing of toll lanes to prevent congestion during peak hours.

Regarding operational management: Strict operational coordination is maintained at the Noi Bai Operations Coordination Center; leadership and operational management on duty 24/7 at all positions to promptly handle arising situations. Affiliated units have also reviewed and reinforced 100% of human resources at positions directly serving passengers.

Ensuring service quality: The Airport coordinates with ground handling units to ensure baggage delivery times meet standards; requires passenger transport companies to arrange sufficient vehicles during all time frames including late nights and early mornings; works with non-aviation enterprises requiring commitment to service quality; assigns passenger assistance staff to promptly detect and help passengers in need; maintains a 24/7 hotline to timely respond to information and feedback to the Airport.

What Should Passengers Note to Avoid Missing Their Flights?

To ensure a smooth flight during the peak period, Noi Bai International Airport advises passengers to complete full biometric authentication via VNeID or check in online through airline websites to minimize waiting time.

Passengers should also carefully check the validity of their identity documents and arrive at the airport early — at least 2 hours before domestic flights and 3 hours before international flights — to ensure the most convenient completion of aviation procedures, especially during the Level 1 security reinforcement period from April 29 to May 4, 2026.

Notably, the application of Level 1 aviation security control measures may cause check-in procedures to take longer than usual. Specifically, the rate of passengers and carry-on baggage subject to random visual inspection will increase significantly compared to normal conditions. Therefore, passengers should plan their time accordingly, comply with inspection procedures and follow the guidance of aviation staff to complete procedures quickly.

In addition, to ensure absolute safety, passengers should be more vigilant in safeguarding their personal belongings and must never watch over or carry items on behalf of strangers in any form. If unattended luggage or other unusual signs are detected, passengers should immediately notify aviation staff or authorities at the nearest position for timely assistance.
