On June 19, 2025, Noi Bai International Airport received an email from a Taiwanese passenger complaining about being offered an illegal ride and being charged an illegal fee at the T2 international terminal. The passenger said that this was his first trip to Vietnam and the incident occurred right after landing at Noi Bai.
On the same day, the Airport sent a dispatch to the Noi Bai International Airport Police Station requesting verification and clarification of the incident.
By June 22, the Noi Bai International Airport Police Station had completed the verification and responded with the results: the two subjects who illegally offered passengers a ride and appropriated money were a married couple including:
N.V.H., male, born in 1984
P.T.T., female, born in 1988
Both residing in Soc Son district, Hanoi.

According to the clarified information, the incident occurred at 12:30 on June 7, 2025, at column 10 - Passenger Terminal T2. A male subject approached and invited passengers to take a Grab car to 112 Hang Bong, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. After getting on the car, the passengers were asked to pay 900,000 VND, including:
700,000 VND displayed through a fake application with an interface similar to a technology car booking application;
200,000 VND with the reason "fee for two people passing through the toll station".
The actual fare for the above journey was only about 350,000 VND, plus 17,000 VND for the toll station fee, totaling 367,000 VND. Thus, the amount of money appropriated was 533,000 VND.
The subjects have been handled according to the law.
