Within less than two days, Ms. Bui Thi Huyen — a staff member of the Trolley Team at Noi Bai Terminal Operations Center — consecutively discovered and returned two large sums of valuables to passengers. In the most recent incident, which took place in the early hours of the morning, the professional coordination of frontline staff helped a passenger recover cash totaling over 466 million VND, along with several important documents.
The midnight journey to recover lost belongings
According to recorded information, the passenger who owned the valuables had arrived on flight VN7076 from Da Nang to Hanoi, landing at Noi Bai International Airport at 00:10 in the early morning. After leaving the airport and arriving home at 1:30 AM, the passenger suddenly realized in a panic that they had left a black handbag behind in the trolley collection area (columns 2–3, Hall A–B, Terminal T1 Passenger Terminal).

On the side of Noi Bai International Airport, at just past 1:00 AM that same day, as the airport gradually fell quiet, Ms. Bui Thi Huyen discovered the unattended bag while collecting trolleys. The strict security protocol was immediately activated. Ms. Huyen reported the incident to the Surveillance Team of the Noi Bai Border Guard Police. After the relevant authorities conducted an explosive sweep to ensure absolute safety, the bag was visually inspected and an official record was drawn up. The valuables inside were counted and found to include multiple personal documents and cash amounting to 466,200,000 VND.
At nearly 3:00 AM, the passenger returned to the airport in a state of extreme anxiety. "At that point, I thought there was no chance of getting my belongings back — I came back to the airport only hoping to file a report and recover my personal ID documents. But after meeting with the security team and receiving thorough guidance, I got all of my belongings back completely intact. The whole process was very quick and smooth," the passenger shared.

The quiet responsibility and sacrifice of frontline staff
Notably, this was the second time in less than two days — across two completely different shifts — that Ms. Bui Thi Huyen had found and returned valuables of significant worth to passengers.
Reflecting on these "extraordinary" shifts, Ms. Huyen said simply: "Every time I find a lost item, my regular trolley-collecting work has to be put on hold. Night shifts are already exhausting, and the additional waiting involved — for the authorities to conduct security checks, count the items, and draw up official records — makes it even more tiring. Even so, the moment I see the passenger's joy and relief when they get their belongings back, all the fatigue just melts away. I feel a sense of relief and happiness too."
In a thank-you letter sent to Noi Bai International Airport following the incident, the passenger expressed deep gratitude: "I feel like an incredibly lucky passenger to have encountered such a kind person as Ms. Huyen, together with the airport security team. On behalf of my family, I would like to extend my most heartfelt thanks to her, the security officers, and Noi Bai International Airport. I am very impressed by the professional manner in which all parties handled the situation."
Striving for a complete journey
Ms. Huyen's actions reflect not only her honesty, but also her strict adherence to aviation security discipline and the quiet dedication of the staff who serve on overnight flights.
In fact, Ms. Huyen's story is just one of thousands of cases in which passengers have been helped to recover lost belongings at the airport. According to statistics from the Lost & Found Department (Noi Bai Terminal Operations Center), in the first five months of 2026 alone, the unit received 13,627 cases of forgotten property and successfully returned 2,758 items to their owners.
On this occasion, Noi Bai International Airport advises passengers to always carefully check their luggage and personal belongings before leaving any area of the airport.
