(Hanoi) – On November 2, 2025, Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, officially launched its scheduled direct route connecting the capital city of Hanoi (Vietnam) and Abu Dhabi (UAE). The first flight, EY430, landed safely at Noi Bai International Airport (NIA).
This event marks an important milestone in expanding the international route network at Noi Bai International Airport, strengthening its role as the capital's strategic aviation gateway, while meeting the growing demand for travel, trade, and tourism between Vietnam and the Middle East region.
The inaugural flight ceremony was held solemnly at Noi Bai International Airport. Representing Noi Bai International Airport was Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan - Deputy Director of the Airport, along with leaders of various units operating at the airport. Representatives of Noi Bai International Airport presented flowers and congratulated the flight crew and Etihad Airways representatives.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan emphasized: "We are delighted to welcome Etihad Airways' direct route to Hanoi. Noi Bai International Airport is committed to coordinating closely, creating the most favorable conditions in infrastructure and services for the airline to operate the new route safely and effectively, contributing to the promotion of comprehensive cooperation between the two nations."
The Hanoi - Abu Dhabi route is operated by Etihad Airways with a frequency of six flights per week , using the state-of-the-art wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The aircraft is designed with comfortable seating classes, including the award-winning Business Studio® and Economy Smart seats , along with advanced inflight entertainment and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The launch of this direct route not only provides convenient travel options for passengers but also serves as an important bridge for commercial activities. According to the planned schedule, the route operates 6 flights per week. Flight EY430 departs from Abu Dhabi at 09:05, arriving in Hanoi at 18:10 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The return flight, EY431, departs from Hanoi at 20:00, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 00:35 (+1) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Additionally, flight EY432 departs from Abu Dhabi at 20:50, arriving in Hanoi at 05:55 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flight EY433 departs from Hanoi at 07:40, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 12:15 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
