On July 10, 2026, at the public lobby area of Terminal 1 – Noi Bai International Airport, a staff member from the Terminal Operations Center promptly discovered and safeguarded a passenger's belongings, then coordinated with functional forces to hand back more than VND 150 million to the passenger who had left it behind.

Specifically, at 14:45 on July 10, 2026, while on duty on the first floor of Lobby A, Terminal 1, Ms. Bui Thi Nga – a staff member of the Noi Bai Terminal Operations Center – noticed a black "Montblanc" handbag left unattended on a luggage cart in a busy public area. Realizing the bag likely contained important assets and documents belonging to a passenger, Ms. Nga stood by the cart to protect the bag and quickly asked someone nearby to notify the nearest functional force.

About 10 minutes later, Police forces and the International Security Control Team 1 arrived at the scene to carry out a security check in accordance with regulations. Upon inspection, witnessed by all relevant parties, the functional forces recorded that the bag contained: VND 127,500,000 (one hundred twenty-seven million five hundred thousand dong), USD 1,000 (one thousand US dollars), and several personal items.

About an hour after losing the bag, its owner returned to search for it. After verifying that the information matched, the Police, Airport Security, and Ms. Bui Thi Nga handed over all the assets, intact and safe, to the passenger.

Sharing about the incident, Ms. Bui Thi Nga – who has worked at Noi Bai International Airport for more than 20 years – said: "Over my many years working under the roof of Noi Bai, my colleagues and I have picked up passengers' forgotten belongings many times, such as phones, tablets, or wallets. However, this was the first time I found such a large amount of cash. At that moment, I just focused on protecting the bag on the spot and coordinating with the functional forces to return it to the passenger as quickly as possible, because I was sure the person who lost it must have been very worried."

The incident took place as Noi Bai International Airport is in the midst of its 2026 summer peak season. This peak period is expected to last until mid-August, with an average service volume of approximately 700 flights and more than 100,000 passengers passing through each day (the busiest day so far recorded 734 flights and 120,000 passengers). Despite the immense workload pressure during the peak season, Ms. Bui Thi Nga's honest act and the professional handling procedures of the airport's functional forces further highlighted the sense of responsibility and integrity of Noi Bai's people, leaving a good impression on passengers traveling through the airport.
