As an international aviation gateway of particularly strategic importance in terms of economy, politics, and geography, disaster prevention, search and rescue operations at Noi Bai are always placed at the highest priority to ensure absolute safety for every flight.

Spreading the message of action across terminals

In response to the 2026 National Week for Disaster Prevention and Control, Noi Bai International Airport simultaneously launched a vibrant visual communications campaign. The action slogan — "Join hands in disaster prevention and control – Ensuring aviation safety in all situations" — was widely disseminated and prominently displayed on large LED screens across passenger terminals and the Airport Operations Center.

This communications initiative not only strongly raised the awareness and responsibility of all staff and employees working at the airport, but also helped spread a spirit of proactive prevention to the tens of thousands of passengers passing through the airport each day.

Maintaining readiness on duty

Fully aware of the highly specialized nature of aviation operations and the pressure to maintain continuous service, Noi Bai International Airport consistently strengthens its Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue Command Board year after year. The emergency command center and on-duty forces are maintained around the clock, 24/7, closely monitoring all abnormal weather developments in order to promptly activate response plans in accordance with the "four on-the-spot" principle.

In addition to the regular maintenance of specialized equipment, communications systems, and backup power supplies, the Airport continuously organizes training sessions and field exercises. These activities help inter-agency units optimize coordination procedures, enabling rapid and effective response within a short timeframe when disaster strikes, minimizing disruption to flight operations to the greatest extent possible.

Ensuring infrastructure and equipment readiness

To realize the goal of safe flight operations, Noi Bai International Airport regularly inspects, reviews, and upgrades the technical infrastructure of the airfield. According to the latest Disaster Prevention and Search & Rescue report, airfield infrastructure has recently been invested in and renovated to improve storm anchoring capacity and minimize risks to the assets and equipment of airlines.

Specifically, the Airport has brought 13 new aircraft tie-down pits into operation, enhancing aircraft mooring capacity during the storm season. The airfield drainage system is also continuously dredged to ensure rapid water drainage even under prolonged extreme heavy rainfall conditions. The airfield perimeter fencing, terminal roofs, and office buildings are regularly inspected and reinforced, while tall trees are pruned to limit damage caused by extreme weather events.

A commitment to safe flights

Despite facing numerous challenges due to increasingly unpredictable weather changes, the entire staff of Noi Bai International Airport always maintains a proactive spirit and strong determination. Participating in the 2026 National Week is not merely a timely communications campaign, but reflects the Airport's ongoing efforts to enhance risk management capabilities and apply digital transformation to forecasting operations.

Noi Bai International Airport affirms its commitment to remaining a safe and reliable destination — fully protecting the peace of mind of every passenger departing from and arriving at the Airport.
