In the first 9 months of 2025, Noi Bai International Airport achieved remarkable results in operational coordination and flight safety assurance. Beyond impressive growth indicators in throughput, the Airport also made significant strides in effectively implementing the A-CDM model, expanding biometric applications, and enhancing digital transformation, advancing towards the goal of building a modern, smart, and sustainable airport.
On October 23, 2025, at the Quarterly Coordination Meeting for Airport and Aerodrome Operations Management for Q3 2025, Noi Bai International Airport reported positive results for the first 9 months of the year, affirming efforts to ensure safety, optimize operations, and promote digital transformation in aviation activities. The meeting was attended by state management agencies at the Airport, police, customs, air traffic control, ground handling companies, airlines, and affiliated units of Noi Bai International Airport.
Impressive Throughput Growth
In the first 9 months of 2025, Noi Bai International Airport recorded over 25.3 million passengers, achieving nearly 80% of the annual plan – an increase compared to the same period in 2024 and Q2/2025.
Total flight operations reached 155,000 movements, equivalent to 81% of the annual plan. Cargo throughput reached 729,000 tons, achieving 85.2% of the annual plan, showing strong growth compared to the previous year.
Safe and Efficient Flight Operations Coordination
In the context of 2025 hosting many major national events such as A50 and A80, Noi Bai International Airport closely coordinated with air traffic management agencies to ensure safe flight operations, particularly during peak periods such as the National Day on September 2.
During Q3, weather conditions were complex and extreme, with typhoons, thunderstorms, and heavy rain affecting flight operations. The Airport and units in the flight service chain made concerted efforts to ensure absolute security and safety for 55,000 flight movements, including 77 state aircraft flights and 550 priority flights.
Clear Effectiveness from A-CDM Implementation
The implementation of the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) model continued to demonstrate clear effectiveness. In Q3, the Airport applied A-CDM operations to 54,038 flight movements, accounting for 99.1% of total operational flights.
The TOBT (Target Off Block Time) compliance index reached 99.02%, reflecting the accuracy and effective coordination between units in the service chain.
Additionally, average TSAT (Target Start-up Approval Time) compliance exceeded 90%, helping reduce congestion and enhance airport operational efficiency.
Advancing Biometric Applications
The implementation of biometrics on the VNeID platform has been widely applied, contributing to enhanced security control and reducing check-in time for passengers. Currently, approximately 2,000 passengers per day perform biometric check-in at Noi Bai International Airport.
The Airport has arranged 49 check-in counters at Terminal T1 integrated with biometrics; 14 Autogate security checkpoints (10 in the ANSC Area C and 4 in Hall E); 16 out of 17 boarding gates (Gates 01-17, except Gate 16 which is being completed) have implemented biometric control.
Ensuring Absolute Security and Safety, Recognized by Evaluation Teams
In the first 9 months of the year, Noi Bai International Airport ensured absolute aviation security and safety for all arriving and departing flights, especially during the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, 2025. This included multiple periods of enhanced Level 1 security measures to ensure major national political events.
Notably, during this period, 6 international airlines including Starlux, China Airlines, Japan Airlines, FedEx, Matta Airlines, and Turkish Airlines conducted security assessments at Noi Bai, all recording positive results.
Actively Pursuing Digital Transformation, Striving Towards Sustainable Development Goals
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. To Tu Ha - Director of Noi Bai International Airport - acknowledged and commended the close coordination spirit between state management agencies and flight service units in maintaining stable, safe, and efficient operations, especially during major national political events.
He stated that the Airport will continue to accelerate digital transformation, apply information technology in operations, while implementing renovation, repair, and infrastructure investment projects to enhance service quality and the airport's appearance.
In particular, the Terminal T2 expansion and renovation project is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of this year, promising to bring a more spacious and modern appearance to Noi Bai International Airport. "Noi Bai International Airport will mobilize all resources to elevate service standards, aiming for a green, clean, beautiful, and smart airport, achieving Skytrax 4-star rating or higher," Mr. Ha shared.
Noi Bai International Airport continues to affirm its role as a crucial aviation transport hub for the entire country, constantly striving for innovation, technology application, and effective coordination to deliver safe, convenient, and modern experiences for passengers.
