Welcoming the inauguration and commencement of operations of the expanded T2 International Passenger Terminal, together with the year-end festive season, Noi Bai International Airport officially launches a series of cultural and artistic activities under the theme “Journey of Love.”
This year’s festive season at Noi Bai International Airport carries a distinctive hallmark, closely associated with the new appearance of the expanded T2 Passenger Terminal. Beyond infrastructure upgrades and increased operational capacity, Noi Bai International Airport is steadily realizing its vision of becoming a “cultural touchpoint,” elevating passenger experience in alignment with international 4-star airport standards.

A Heritage Space within Modern Architecture
The highlight of the program is the Traditional Arts Exhibition, taking place from 15 December 2025 to 10 January 2026. Within the modern architectural setting of the sterile area on Level 3 of Terminal T2, passengers are invited to explore the depth of Vietnamese culture through a carefully curated selection of traditional art works.
A prominent feature in the West Wing is the large-scale lacquered wooden sculpture duo “Dragon and Fairy Descendants” (comprising Dragon Throne and Fairy Descendant) by Meritorious Artisan Nguyễn Tấn Phát. The image of the Dragon—symbolizing power and prosperity—combined with the Fairy—representing compassion and humanity—is solemnly positioned at the gateway of the Capital, serving as a proud introduction to Vietnam’s cultural origins.
Within the exhibition space, passengers will also enter the world of traditional lacquer paintings by Artist Minh Doãn and SONTA Designs Studio. The use of natural lacquer, crafted through meticulous traditional techniques, is celebrated here, creating a compelling contrast between the quiet elegance of heritage and the dynamic rhythm of modern aviation.

Moving to the East Wing, visitors encounter the grand installation “Eternal Spring,” highlighted by a majestic sacred Dragon stretching over 80 meters in length. This powerful image symbolizes the aspiration of Thăng Long soaring skyward and conveys wishes for a prosperous and flourishing nation. Embracing the Dragon is the vibrant “Essence of Vietnam” space, showcasing renowned traditional crafts such as Vạn Phúc silk, bamboo and rattan weaving, conical hats, and bamboo flutes, alongside an exhibition honoring the cultural heritage of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. Completing this cultural panorama is a moss-covered traditional Northern Vietnamese house, recreating a simple, rustic way of life amid the bustling atmosphere of an international terminal.

A Multisensory Experience and Emotional “Touchpoints”
In addition to visual arts, the terminal space is filled with the melodies of traditional Vietnamese musical instruments, performed every evening from 15 to 25 December 2025.
To bring the message of “Journey of Love” to life, Noi Bai International Airport is also rolling out a series of unique interactive activities:
-
Surprise gifts on baggage carousels: On the peak days of 23 and 24 December 2025, at baggage claim areas in Terminals T1 and T2, Christmas gifts will be thoughtfully interwoven among checked luggage. This initiative aims to deliver moments of delight to passengers upon arrival, while ensuring that baggage handling procedures remain smooth, safe, and efficient.
-
Santa Claus gift-giving: Specially organized for young passengers under 12 years old in the sterile areas.
-
The Wish Tree: A space where passengers can write down and preserve their wishes for the New Year 2026.

A representative of Noi Bai International Airport’s leadership shared:
“The inauguration of the expanded T2 Terminal is not merely an infrastructural milestone, but an opportunity for us to redefine the airport experience. Through ‘Journey of Love,’ Noi Bai affirms its position not only as a transit hub, but as a vibrant cultural space where Vietnamese values are honored and shared with international friends.”
The “Journey of Love” series of activities serves as an emotionally resonant year-end greeting, marking the modern and world-class new identity of the expanded T2 Terminal. It stands as clear evidence of Noi Bai International Airport’s commitment to shaping the Capital’s gateway—modern in scale, rich in cultural identity, and dedicated in service—truly deserving to be the first heartfelt touchpoint in every passenger’s journey.
