A Noi Bai International Airport trolley staff member discovered a forgotten handbag containing over 88 million VND in cash.
At around 12:00 PM on November 21, while collecting trolleys, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet – a member of the Trolley Team under Noi Bai Operation Center – noticed a handbag left on a trolley between columns 9 and 10 in the public hall area A1, on the first floor of Terminal T2 at Noi Bai International Airport. Realizing that it was a passenger's forgotten property, Ms. Nguyet immediately reported the incident to Noi Bai Aviation Security personnel.
The Noi Bai Mobile Security Force promptly employed professional procedures, including visual inspection, explosives screening, and security scanning of the handbag, before documenting and transferring the item to the Mobile Security Team.
Upon inspection, the handbag was found to contain Vietnamese currency and foreign currency with a total value exceeding 88 million VND. However, no identification documents were found inside the bag, making it impossible for Nội Bài International Airport to immediately contact the owner.
By around 2:30 PM the same day, the owner of the handbag contacted Noi Bai Aviation Security Center and was assisted in reclaiming their property. The passenger was identified as a Taiwanese man traveling on flight BR0397 from Taipei to Hanoi (TPE-HAN).
