In an effort to continuously enhance the quality of passenger services and create distinctive cultural highlights reflecting the thousand-year-old heritage of the capital city of Hanoi at the aviation gateway, Noi Bai International Airport, in collaboration with Hai Au Investment Development and Communication Corporation, is organizing a cultural week at Terminals 1 and 2 with the theme "HANOI'S AROMA" from November 24 to November 30, 2023.

The opening ceremony of the cultural week will take place directly at the stage near Gate 23, the international quarantine area, Terminal 2 at 9:30 AM on November 24, 2023. The ceremony will be attended by consulting experts, designers, and advisors for the program, as well as artists specializing in embroidery from Quat Dong village, traditional toy artisans from Phu Xuyen, conical hat craftsmen from Chuong village, and pottery artisans from Bat Trang village. Representatives of state management agencies, units, and airlines operating at the airport will also be present. Additionally, leaders and staff of Noi Bai International Airport, Hai Au Investment Development and Communication Corporation, press agencies, and a large number of passengers with flights scheduled during the opening ceremony period will contribute to the event.

As part of the series of activities to improve passenger service quality at Noi Bai International Airport, the cultural week "Hanoi's Aroma" marks the beginning of an annual series of events aimed at honoring the traditional cultural values of the nation. "The unique cultural beauties leave their distinctive mark, adding immeasurable value to Noi Bai, creating an exceptional international airport that is second to none in the hearts of passengers passing through here. In terms of airport infrastructure, we may not yet be comparable to leading airports in the region, but when it comes to cultural identity, every Vietnamese person takes pride in the rich history, culture, and elegant lifestyle of the Vietnamese people in general and the people of Trang An in particular. That is precisely why we chose 'Hanoi's Aroma' as the theme for the first-ever cultural week held at the gateway to Hanoi," stated Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan during the opening ceremony.
The cultural week "Hanoi's Aroma" features unique check-in points that capture the essence of Hanoi, such as the poetic corner of Phan Dinh Phung Street, the venerable O Quan Chuong gate, flower stalls, flower bicycles, a pot of hot tea in a winter street corner, familiar images of bamboo lattices from the villages, and an exhibition corner showcasing the beauty of Hanoi. These elements are sure to create distinctive cultural highlights, providing a miniature Hanoi at Noi Bai International Airport. Passengers passing through the airport will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional performances such as rowing songs, folk songs, and witness demonstrations by artisans from traditional craft villages, including making toy figurines, embroidery, hat-making, and pottery. All of these contribute to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people to every passenger arriving at and departing from Noi Bai International Airport, helping to build and preserve positive impressions of a civilized and friendly Noi Bai Airport and a Hanoi rich in cultural identity. "At the same time, the event also aims to honor intangible cultural values, arousing a sense of national pride in the enduring values of our nation. This is what creates the distinctive, unique imprints among the airports in the region and the world. These unique characteristics are present right here at Noi Bai International Airport during the 'Hanoi's Aroma' cultural week," Ms. Ngan shared with the diverse audience attending the opening ceremony.

The check-in points during the cultural week are arranged at 5 locations within Terminals 1 and 2. Primarily concentrated at Terminal 2, there are 4 check-in points: the "Village Gate" with brick walls, triple-gated entrance, bamboo stalls in the public area on the 3rd floor; an exhibition of paintings about Hanoi in the quarantine area - West Head - 3rd floor; the miniature landscape "O Quan Chuong" in the restricted area - 1st floor; and the performance stage "Ancient House - Beauty of Vietnamese Culture" in the East Head quarantine area - Near Gate 23 - 3rd floor. This is also the location where artisans from traditional craft villages will perform and allow passengers to experience toy figurine molding, embroidery, hat-making, and pottery-making, interspersed with traditional folk music performances such as cheo and xam, creating a space for passengers to appreciate Hanoi's traditional cultural atmosphere. Performances are scheduled daily from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, from November 24 to November 30, 2023.
At Terminal 1, in the restricted area, on the 1st floor of wing B, there is one check-in point simulating the picturesque corner of Hanoi: Phan Dinh Phung Street. Here, passengers can check in with a flower-laden bicycle, enjoy a cup of hot tea, or indulge in some Hanoi specialties such as candied fruits (ô mai), Vong village green rice flakes (cốm), and other local delicacies.

The cultural week event "Hanoi's Aroma" will contribute to introducing and promoting the image of the country, culture, and people of Vietnam to every traveler arriving through the international aviation gateway of the capital, Hanoi. Noi Bai International Airport aims to create distinctive impressions for passengers passing through the airport, and it also plans to continue coordinating with various agencies and organizations to organize meaningful events for passengers in the future.
