"The trip to Truong Sa helps each member to gain a deeper understanding of the sacred sovereignty and the responsibility of participating in the steadfast protection of the national sacred sovereignty, maritime and island sovereignty, and continental shelf."

That is the statement of Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bong - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Navy, and head of the delegation to Truong Sa.

This special working trip was organized from April 17th to April 23rd, 2024, with the purpose of visiting the military and people of Truong Sa Island District and the DK1/19 Platform on the southern continental shelf of the nation.

The working delegation includes: Comrade Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bong - Political Commissar of the Navy - Head of the delegation; Comrade Ho Xuan Truong - Deputy Party Secretary of the Central Enterprise Bloc - Deputy Head of the delegation. Participating in the working delegation, on board KN491, are members of the Navy delegation including Rear Admirals, Political Commissars of Regions 1, 2, 3, 4 under the Navy; Political Commissar of the 146th Navy Brigade; representatives from Departments and Offices under the Navy; the Party Committee of the Central Enterprise Bloc, including Comrade Ho Xuan Truong, Deputy Party Secretary of the Central Enterprise Bloc; Comrade Vu Tri Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee; Comrade Hoang Thi Minh Thu - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Central Enterprise Bloc; representatives of leadership from Party Committees and units under the Central Enterprise Bloc; corporations, state-owned enterprises, banks within the Bloc, and nearly 200 delegates from various agencies, units, organizations, and localities such as Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong City, as well as journalists from press agencies, media, and artists.

Representing Vietnam Airport Corporation (ACV) are Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nam - Party Secretary, Director of Dong Hoi Airport; Comrade Nguyen Ha Thanh - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Vietnam Airport Corporation, Secretary of the Youth Union of Noi Bai International Airport, participating in the working delegation.

After a 7-day journey visiting 7 islands (Da Thi, Sinh Ton, Co Lin, Toc Tan C, Da Tay A, Nui Le B, Truong Sa) and the DK-I/19 Que Duong Platform, the delegation arrived to visit, exchange, and present gifts while also learning about the actual conditions and living conditions of the military and people of Truong Sa Island District and the platform. They participated in various cultural and artistic competitions and collective activities organized by the Organizing Committee, such as the competition on understanding the sea and islands, the arts competition with the theme "Sea, Islands, and Navy Soldiers," the essay competition reflecting on the trip, the amateur photography competition, chess tournaments, fabric flower arrangement competitions, and collective birthday celebrations. These activities contributed to fostering cohesion and mutual understanding among the members of the working delegation, especially through visiting, encouraging, and cultural exchanges with soldiers and civilians on the islands and platform.

During this working trip, corporations, state-owned enterprises, and banks within the Bloc participated in supporting the "Greening Truong Sa" program, with a total amount of over 2.7 billion Vietnamese dong. They also supported the establishment of 4 green vegetable gardens with a total amount of 1 billion Vietnamese dong, inaugurated a multipurpose cultural center on Toc Tan C Island, and provided medical equipment support to Truong Sa Island District.

During the visits to the islands and the DK-I platforms, the working delegation, along with corporations, state-owned enterprises, banks, units within the Bloc and localities, and businesses participating in the delegation, directly presented practical gifts to the military, people of Truong Sa Island District, and the DK-I/19 platform. These gifts aim to improve their material and spiritual lives, and they have a total value of over 700 million Vietnamese dong (including 100 electric fans, 13 desktop computers, 09 printers, 11 water filters, 05 laptops, 03 55-inch TVs, 20 solar-powered lights, 07 water pumps, 15 hair clippers, 01 portable speaker, 01 5-liter electric rice cooker, 06 freezers, 1 ton of glutinous rice, 120 liters of honey, melon seeds, etc.).

 At the summary session of the delegation, on behalf of the 9th working delegation, Comrade Ho Xuan Truong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprise Bloc, Deputy Head of the working delegation, evaluated the successful visit to the troops and people on the Truong Sa archipelago and the DK-I platform in 2024. The delegation ensured absolute safety and left a deep and lasting impression on the military, people of Truong Sa Island District, and the DK-I platform, as well as on each member participating in the delegation.

This is the 5th time that the Party Committee of the Central Enterprise Bloc has visited and worked in Truong Sa Island District. Through this visit, the delegation and its members gained vivid practical experiences, understanding the difficulties and sacrifices of the Navy officers, soldiers, and people who tirelessly fulfill their duty of safeguarding the country's seas, islands, and continental shelves. The trip served as a valuable practical lesson for all members of the working delegation. The overall result for each member of the delegation was to "bring forth sentiments and bring back confidence," gaining a deeper understanding of the sacred sovereignty and a stronger sense of responsibility in protecting the sovereignty and maritime rights of the nation's seas, islands, and continental shelves.

Comrade Ho Xuan Truong - Deputy Secretary and Head of the working delegation of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprise Bloc, expressed sincere gratitude for the concern and support provided by the Navy and Comrade Nguyen Van Bong throughout the journey of the 9th working delegation. He praised the collective efforts of the officers and soldiers of the KN-491 Ship, the Executive Officer Team, the Service Team, the Navy Cultural Brigade, the Youth Union Performing Arts Team, the artists, journalists, and exemplary individuals from various units and departments within the working delegation.

Speech at the summary conference of the working delegation, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bong - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Naval Forces, expresses gratitude for the valuable material support from the delegates. However, more importantly, it is the value of spirit, the emotions, the sense of responsibility, and the empathy of the delegates towards the soldiers and people of Truong Sa, the DK-I offshore platform.

These values will spread throughout the country, reaching our compatriots abroad. This is an incredibly powerful source, the spiritual strength of our nation, our country, to warm the hearts and reassure the Navy officers and soldiers in carrying out the vital task of protecting the sovereignty of our seas and sacred islands. These are the great values of the journey.

On this occasion, the Naval Forces awarded 12 commemorative medals "For the cause of protecting the sovereignty of the homeland's seas and islands" and 154 "Truong Sa Soldier" badges to the delegates, summarizing the impromptu competition "Unity, Comradeship, Achievement, Determination to Win" with various vibrant and practical activities. The result: more than 90 works by 52 authors in various genres were created during the 6-day voyage, including 41 works selected for competition (including 21 poems, 3 songs, 27 essays, reflections, and essays).

The beautiful photo contest had 120 entries, many of which showed creative artistic ideas and profound content. The cultural and arts competitions, the study of the sea and islands, Chinese chess competitions, flower arrangement competitions, etc., were organized seriously, creating a vibrant atmosphere of competition and attracting enthusiastic participation from a large number of delegates and officers and soldiers.
