West Air (China) has recently launched a new route between Chongqing, China and Hanoi, Vietnam.

A seminar to introduce the West Air Hanoi - Chongqing route was held in Hanoi on July 5, 2024. Representatives of Noi Bai International Airport attended and congratulated the airline.

The Chongqing - Hanoi route (CKG-HAN) is operated by West Air with three round-trip flights per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The flight time to Hanoi is approximately two hours. The aircraft used is the A320.

West Air is a member of the HNA Group and was founded in 2007. It has a fleet of 44 A319/320/321 aircraft and operates over 170 routes to nearly 60 cities in China, including Haikou, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Zhengzhou and Hefei.

With the addition of West Air, Noi Bai International Airport now has a total of over 50 international and domestic airlines (including passenger and cargo airlines) licensed by the Vietnamese Civil Aviation Authority, connecting the capital Hanoi to the airport networks of Vietnam and most regions and continents of the world. The average passenger traffic growth rate is over 2 digits. These numbers are constantly increasing.

Noi Bai International Airport and the units in the passenger service chain are constantly striving to serve flights safely, efficiently and to improve the quality of services. The opening of the new route will contribute to the development of tourism and the economy of the country, as well as promote the image of a safe, friendly and welcoming Vietnam that is ready to welcome visitors from all over the world.

According to forecasts from West Air (China), the number of Chinese tourists to Vietnam as well as the number of tourists from Vietnam to China will continue to increase in the coming time. In particular, the new route between Chongqing and Hanoi is expected to attract more passengers.

Speaking at the route launch seminar, a representative of West Air (China) said: "Cities in Vietnam, especially Hanoi, are always a favorite destination for Chinese tourists. Conversely, Chongqing, with its beautiful natural scenery, many attractions and historical sites, is also a popular choice for Vietnamese tourists on their journey to explore China. I believe that the Chongqing - Hanoi route will make it easier for tourists to come to Vietnam, learn about Vietnamese customs, culture and people, and also help attract Vietnamese tourists to China."
