At 1:50 AM on December 7, flight HO1329 of Juneyao Airlines from Shanghai, China, safely landed at Noi Bai International Airport, officially inaugurating the regular commercial round-trip route between Shanghai and Hanoi.

The new route will be operated by Juneyao Airlines with a frequency of one round-trip flight per day, using the modern Airbus A320 aircraft. The flight time from Shanghai to Hanoi is approximately 3.5 hours.

To celebrate this milestone, Noi Bai International Airport held a "water cannon salute" ceremony, a prestigious aviation tradition to mark the opening of a new route.

As the largest aviation gateway in northern Vietnam, Noi Bai International Airport currently handles an average of 500 flights daily, serving over 80,000 passengers, including nearly 40,000 international travelers. In 2024, the airport ensured absolute security and safety for over 30 million passengers and more than 180,000 flights to and from the airport. Notably, there was significant growth in international passenger transport, with a 23% increase compared to the same period in 2023. With continuous efforts to improve and enhance service quality, five new airlines have launched routes to Hanoi in 2024. Currently, Noi Bai International Airport hosts 65 domestic and international airlines, operating routes to cities and provinces across Vietnam and continents worldwide.

Juneyao Airlines is a private airline in China, currently operating over 80 flights per week on 12 routes to Southeast Asia. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, a representative of Juneyao Airlines affirmed the airline's commitment to providing high-quality services to Chinese tourists visiting Vietnam to explore and experience its culture, while also facilitating Vietnamese travelers in discovering exciting destinations in China.
