Noi Bai International Airport and its on-site units successfully weathered Typhoon YAGI, ensuring absolute safety. Flight operations have returned to normal, with over 500 flights handled on September 8.

Preparations and responses to Typhoon No. 3 were carried out strictly in line with directives from higher authorities and closely adhered to pre-approved plans. The airport and its operational units maintained a 100% staffing level, with leadership representatives conducting inspections before, during, and immediately after the storm to ensure infrastructure and equipment remained secure and ready for operation.
As a result of these efforts, Noi Bai International Airport resumed flight operations at 11:49 PM on September 7 (local time). At 12:05 AM on September 8, 2024, flight VJ959 from Fukuoka (FUK) to Hanoi (HAN) safely landed at Noi Bai after a 14-hour suspension of operations due to Typhoon YAGI.
Thanks to the high level of determination from all units, Typhoon YAGI caused only minor damage to the airport: some vulnerable sections of fencing were knocked down, and a few trees were uprooted. These damages were quickly assessed and confirmed to have no impact on flight operations or airport functions. Efforts to fully restore affected areas are underway and will be completed as soon as possible.
Between 12:00 AM and 5:00 AM on September 8, Noi Bai International Airport handled 109 flights, including 69 international and 40 domestic services. The airport plans to serve a total of 514 flights today, as scheduled by the airlines (domestic departures/arrivals: 107/120; international departures/arrivals: 142/145).
Passengers are encouraged to contact their airlines for updated flight schedules or download the iNIA app developed by Noi Bai International Airport to access real-time flight information and manage their journeys proactively following disruptions caused by Typhoon YAGI.
